Celebrate St George’s Day in Warwick

Warwick will be celebrating St George’s Day this year. The streets will be decorated with bunting and shops will dress their windows on Saturday 23rd April.

A colourful parade will set off from Smith Street at 11am and wind its way through the town centre to a stage in the Market Place where patriotic songs will open an afternoon of entertainment.

Further attractions will include medieval re-enactments, Morris dancing, a reptile and birds of prey display, face painting, a climbing wall and an army tank.

Warwick Town Centre Manager, Matthew Caddick said: “With its magnificent castle and historic charm, there’s no better town in England to celebrate St George’s Day. We’re organising a strong programme of entertainment and I’m confident that both local residents and tourists will enjoy a fulfilling and memorable day out in Warwick.”

Warwick Chamber of Trade Chairman, Sue Butcher added: “The St George’s Day event will add vitality and vibrancy over the Easter weekend and complement the town’s quality businesses and attractions.”
